Pretzel & Stouffer Prevails in Dismissal Before Seventh Circuit

Jim Sipchen and Quinn Donnelly, recently secured affirmation of dismissal of a regional big box retailer from a lawsuit filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

The plaintiff alleged that the retailer, along with a developer and a local municipality, had interfered with a neighboring landowner’s ability to sell his property. Following the dismissal, the plaintiff appealed the decision to the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, where Jim and Quinn successfully advocated on behalf of the retailer. As a result of their work, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals issued a per curiam opinion unanimously affirming the dismissal of the retailer with costs.
