Pretzel & Stouffer Chartered promoted Mimi Moon and Michael Barry to shareholders in the firm.  Moon and Barry both focus their respective practices primarily on the defense of health-care professionals, carrying on Pretzel & Stouffer’s seven-decade legacy of trial attorneys who successfully defend hospitals, physicians, and long-term care facilities. 

Pretzel & Stouffer also announces that Kim Flanigan, Christian Trujillo, Jennifer Sutterer, and Katia Cortes have joined the firm as associate attorneys.  Flanigan joins the firm after several years practicing primarily in the field of medical malpractice defense.  Trujillo will focus his practice on non-medical professional liability matters and general tort defense after starting his career serving the public as a prosecutor in Kane County. 

Sutterer (Notre Dame) and Cortes (Loyola Chicago) were sworn into the bar in November 2023 after completing the firm’s summer associate program in 2022. Both Sutterer and Cortes are developing their respective practices in the firm’s professional liability, commercial litigation, and medical malpractice groups.
