Overview
Julieta Kosiba is an adaptable litigator with vast experience defending individuals and businesses in state and federal courts. She works closely with her clients to guide them through the litigation process and to develop an aggressive yet practical strategy to achieve the most favorable outcome, whether that be through pre-trial dismissal, settlement, or trial verdict.
In 2025, Julieta joined Pretzel & Stouffer, Chartered where she focuses her practice on defending medical negligence claims. She brings a unique perspective and set of skills to this practice with her ability to problem solve across a broad range of matters and her experience in working closely with healthcare providers in various capacities.
Before joining Pretzel & Stouffer, Chartered, Julieta worked at another defense firm where she was highly regarded for her attention to detail, diligence, and critical-thinking, research, and writing skills. She handled commercial disputes; employment litigation; and the defense of medical malpractice, product liability, premises liability, and other personal injury claims. In addition to advocating for clients in court, she served as their counselor, advising them on numerous issues, particularly in the area of employment law.
She has also provided healthcare providers with guidance on mitigating legal exposure. While in law school, she interned for a claims management company for healthcare captives where she assisted in managing professional negligence claims and drafting risk-management materials. She also worked on updating and drafting policies for a large health system as an extern before graduating law school.
Since graduating law school, Julieta has successfully defended clients in a wide variety of matters. She has secured pre-trial dismissals, obtained favorable settlements, and assisted with complex trials in product, premises, and general liability cases. With her skills, experience, work ethic, and creative thinking, she has become a valued member of Pretzel & Stouffer, Chartered’s product, premises, and general liability practices.
