Pretzel & Stouffer shareholder Matthew J. Egan was reappointed to the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Jury Instructions in Civil Cases for a term from January 2021 through December 2023. The Committee studies and recommends new pattern jury instructions for civil cases or modifications to existing instructions. Matt has served on the Committee since 2019.

The Committee is responsible for receiving rule proposals from the Supreme Court, Supreme Court or Judicial Conference Committees, the bench, the bar or the public. Proposals offered by the bench, bar or public are reviewed by the Rules Committee and placed on the agenda for public hearing if the proposal is determined to have merit.
