Richard is an associate at Pretzel & Stouffer, Chartered. He focuses his practice on insurance coverage litigation and appellate law. Richard represents insurance industry clients in coverage disputes arising out of general liability, commercial general liability, professional liability, homeowners and related policies of insurance. In his appellate law practice, Richard has drafted numerous briefs for the Illinois Appellate Court, presented oral argument, and successfully defended a petition for writ of certiorari in the U.S. Supreme Court.

Before joining Pretzel & Stouffer in 2009, Richard was a law clerk in the Illinois Appellate Court’s 1st District, where he drafted appellate opinions and Illinois Supreme Court Rule 23 orders. Richard also served as staff attorney for the Illinois Appellate Court’s 1st District, and as marshal to Illinois Supreme Court Justice Charles E. Freeman.
