Mike Turiello, a partner with Pretzel & Stouffer, Chartered, has significant experience defending individuals and corporations in Illinois state courts and federal courts nationwide. Mike has tried more than 40 cases to verdict and has managed complex mass tort litigation on a national scale. He focuses on product liability litigation, professional malpractice defense, commercial litigation and tort defense.
Recently, Mike coordinated the national defense of a product distributor in the In Re Stand ‘n Seal multidistrict litigation, handling all aspects of discovery for more than 200 plaintiffs from 34 states. In April 2010, Mike participated in the first Stand ‘n Seal bellwether trial, which involved five plaintiffs in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. The trial resulted in a complete defense verdict. While actively handling this complex mass tort, Mike continued to defend his clients’ interests in other matters, including recent successful trials in cases involving product liability, medical malpractice and fraud.
While in law school, Mike represented abuse victims seeking protective orders in court through the Delaware County Legal Assistance program in Pennsylvania, and served as a research assistant to former President Judge Abraham J. Gafni of Philadelphia County. Mike lives with his wife, daughter, German shepherd and mutt of undetermined origin.
