Mike is an associate attorney at Pretzel & Stouffer, Chartered. He focuses on civil trial litigation, handling both professional liability and general commercial litigation. Mike has extensive experience in handling all phases of the litigation process and has successfully defended Illinois physicians and insurance brokers in state and federal court.
While in law school, Mike completed two judicial externships, serving under Illinois Appellate Justice Robert E. Gordon of the 1st District and under U.S. District Judge John W. Darrah of the Northern District of Illinois. Mike also clerked at Chicago’s Board of Education in the Labor and Employment division, where he handled termination of city employees. In addition, Mike served as an editor for The John Marshall Law Review and was a member of the moot court team.
Mike is a lifelong Chicago-area resident. He and his wife, Becky, a pediatric physical therapist, enjoy staying physically active and have run in several Chicago-area races. They also enjoy traveling and experiencing Chicago’s cultural offerings.
