David is an associate attorney with Pretzel & Stouffer, Chartered. He focuses on civil defense litigation, including employment litigation, professional liability and commercial litigation.

David prepared himself for litigation practice before and during law school. His experience includes drafting several motions for summary judgment in cases with potential damages in the millions of dollars and preparing for and taking depositions. He also served as a courtroom technology expert during a two-week breach of contract and defamation trial, preparing and presenting all exhibits and videos to the jury. The trial resulted in a $13 million jury verdict for the client.

David earned his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law. While in law school, David participated in the National Environmental Moot Court competition in White Plains, N.Y.; was a member of the University of Illinois Journal of Law, Technology & Policy; and published monthly columns in the Illinois Bar Journal on Illinois law updates. In addition, David was a member of the College of Law’s Federal Civil Rights Clinic, where he represented the plaintiff in a civil rights case that involved Section 1983 of the Civil Rights Act. During the case, David conducted depositions, briefed cross motions for summary judgment and chaired a two-day trial of his client’s case. David also externed for U.S. Magistrate Judge David G. Bernthal.

David earned his bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis, where he was a four- year member of the varsity swim team, receiving All-American recognition four times and Academic All-Conference recognition three times.
