Amy is a partner with Pretzel & Stouffer, Chartered, where she focuses on general commercial and civil litigation. She has extensive experience defending professionals at trial in state and federal courts, and has successfully defended numerous individuals, as well as a broad range of large and small corporate clients, in a variety of professional liability matters, including malpractice claims. Her clients include physicians, corporate officers and directors, attorneys, accountants, architects, general contractors, insurance companies, insurance brokers, and insurance agents. A large part of Amy’s practice is also devoted to defending health care institutions in actions brought under the Healing Arts Malpractice or Illinois Nursing Home Care acts. In addition, she has represented many plaintiffs and defendants in commercial disputes involving breach of contract, business torts, employment discrimination and wrongful discharge.

While earning her law degree at Valparaiso University School of Law, Amy was selected to participate in an externship program with the Cook County Guardian’s Office, and served in that program for more than a year.
